Safe Clinic Protocols

We are so excited to be able to offer in-person acupuncture during the covid-19 pandemic! We have made a lot of changes in an effort to keep patients and practitioners safe and healthy. If you're new to DCA or community acupuncture, check out the "Acupuncture at DCA" and "FAQ" pages to learn more about how we work. If you're returning after a little while or just want the nuts & bolts version, please read this page thoroughly. Thank you for playing a role in collective wellbeing!

Please read through and be prepared to follow the following rules when at our clinic:


Book Online

We no longer have reception and request all patients book or make adjustments to their appointment using our new scheduling platform, Jane. New patients will be directed to create an account and complete the initial intake forms. If you have trouble scheduling, try use this guide first. If you still need assistance, please call or email us. We're happy to help you out!


Arrive wearing your *KN95, N95, or surgical* mask

Staff are masked and all patients and visitors are required to wear masks over their nose and mouth when entering the building and during the duration of their visit at DCA regardless of vaccine status. Masks may not be cloth or have valves. Make sure your mask fits snugly around your face. If you do not have a suitable mask, KN95s are available at the clinic for $1.


Prepare to pay your sliding scale amount via card or check 

You will be prompted to pay for your treatment upon entry to the clinic. To speed this process, you may store a credit card on Jane, or come with a pre-written check. No cash is preferable at this time.

**If absolutely needing to pay with cash, please bring the exact amount. We will not be able to give change for amounts over your total. The difference (change) will be added to your account for future treatment(s).**


Arrive fed & hydrated!

Unfortunately for you & us, snacks are not available at the clinic should you arrive or become hungry during your visit. It is not recommended to receive acupuncture without having eaten something in the past few hours, so we advise you store a little caloric boost somewhere nearby should you feel a hunger signal strike. Luckily however, we do have filtered water available for any thirst that makes its way to your [masked] mouth :)

Know the Symptoms of Covid-19

(Please stay home, take a rapid test, and contact your primary care provider if you have any of the following symptoms):

  • fever, chills, chills with shaking

  • runny, congested nose

  • cough, shortness of breath

  • sore throat

  • muscle pain, body aches

  • recent loss of smell or taste

  • recent fatigue or weakness

  • recent soft stool or stomach cramps

  • recent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
